About Devin Walker

A Senior Equal Opportunity Professional

Devin Walker offers a 25-year career distinguished by commended performance and proven results.  He has extensive background in all aspects of Equal Opportunity, including training, investigations, coaching, dispute resolution and counseling of high level management officials and employees of Equal Employment Opportunity and Program complaints.

 

As a former partner in the National Equal Opportunity Institute, Inc., Devin was instrumental in establishing the first national clearinghouse for Federal Titles, subtitles and statutes of various Civil Rights Acts, and a technical resource center that provided technical and program assistance to public and private sector organizations.  Through this effort, Devin became a certified trainer in Program Investigations under Title VI of the 1964 Civil Rights Act, which received recognition from the Ohio State Supreme Court in 2011. 

 

Devin has over 19 years of experience in the transportation industry and over 13 years of experience as an investigator of Title VII discrimination complaints, which includes conducting investigations for over 15 Federal government agencies.  He served as a member of an EEO Task Force and Special Project Team, assisting a Federal government agency in the elimination of the backlog of over 600 EEO complaints.  He has investigated or processed over 1,000 EEO complaints.

 

As a trainer, Devin has developed and designed e-Learning training videos that use the latest in animation technology to develop EEO training videos for supervisors, managers and employees, making access to learning available at any time.  He has also facilitated and designed EEO/Sexual Harassment Training; EEO Refresher Training for Managers, Supervisors and Employees; Diversity Awareness Workshops; Foundations for Supervision Training; and Developing Effective Interviewing Skills Training.

 

Through D. Walker Consultants, Devin successfully represented and resolved five out of six EEO complaints of discrimination for members of Local 421, American Federation of Government Employees (AFGE), Federal Energy Regulatory Commission.  As a certified mediator and an active participant in the field of alternative dispute resolution, Devin works with unions, public and private sector organizations, and community and religious groups to resolve internal conflicts at the lowest possible level.

 

Devin holds a Bachelor of Arts Degree in Political Science from the University of Maryland Baltimore County (UMBC) and is an American Political Science Association’s Ralph Bunche Summer Institute Graduate.
